Electrical monowheels are quite resistant and long-lasting means of transportation, but as with any high-tech device, it is possible to harm them with faulty use and maintenance. Therefore we stress the importance of reading the manual carefully before using the device.
In everyday maintenance and use, attention should be paid on the following points:
-
Battery, charging, electronics
- When you start recharging the Monowheel, plug one end of the power cord into the device and plug the other end into a grounded AC outlet. Connecting in reverse sequence could damage the charger. The wheel has to be switched off when charging.
- The red charging light on the charger will turn on. When the light turns green, the device is fully charged. Do not leave the charger plugged in after charging is completed, it damages the charger and wastes energy.
- When disconnecting the charger, first unplug the charger from the outlet and then disconnect the charger from the device.
- If red indicator lights on the battery are blinking and you hear a sound signal, it means that your battery is low and needs charging as soon as possible. Do not attempt to continue riding if the battery is empty, this could damage the device and increase the risk of falling. Always check before riding if the battery is charged enough for the planned distance.
- When the battery has emptied while in use, it should be re-charged as soon as possible. The battery's capacity and lifespan may be significantly reduced if the device is left with empty or half-empty battery for a longer period of time (more than one week).
- If the device is not used for an extended period of time (over a month), the battery should be charged at least once a month. The capacity and lifespan of an empty battery may be shortened considerably.
- Battery should be charged in a dry place where the temperature is not less than 10C °. If the charger has been stored in a cold place, bringing it into a warm room can cause condensation, so before charging you need to wait the device to warm up and the moisture to dry out.
- Avoid lifting up the Monowheel when it is turned on, as it can damage the electronics of the product. The device must be switched off before lifting and transporting.
-
Riding conditions
- Pay attention to the water and dust resistance class (IP code) shown in the passport when using the device. IP 56 allows the vehicle to drive through the puddle that is not deeper than 10 mm. Try to avoid its use in unsuitable weather and terrain conditions.
- It is not advisable to use the vehicle in heavy rain, snowfall and on slippery roads. Impaired driving conditions increase the risk of falling, which can harm you and the vehicle. Monowheels are primarily designed to be used on good roads and surfaces, and in good weather.
- When the device has been used in wet conditions, it should be taken to dry into a warm, dry room as soon as possible.
-
Cleaning and storage
- Dirty Monowheel should not be cleaned using a pressure washing device or put into a water container for washing. The vehicle can be cleaned with a moist cloth, avoid solvents, as it is not known how they might react to the plastic case.
- The vehicle should be kept in a moderately warm (plus degrees), dry room, avoid storing it in cellars and other damp places. Do not leave the vehicle or its battery out in the rain.
- Do not leave the vehicle under hot and strong direct sunlight, especially if it has a dark-colored plastic shell. The sun can deform and melt the plastic parts.
- Do not leave the vehicle in extreme cold. This can make the plastic brittle and damages the capacity of the battery.
- Check the pneumatic pressure in tyres on a regular basis. Half empty or a flat tyre damages the tyres. To repair or replace tyres, turn to E-wheel Ltd. technical support or to E-wheel Ltd. authorised repairers and agree on the time for repairing or replacing the tyre.
-
Warranty and repair
- In case of technical defects, please contact authorised repairers, do not try to repair the device yourself.
- In case of an unauthorised repair of the device, the factory warranty loses its validity.
